Learn how to start a recruitment business Stage 1 – Mentor Program

After a successful round of the mentor program I have decided to relaunch it for anybody wishing to start a recruiting business. There is no space on this program for time wasters or people that ask 100’s of questions and I saw that respectful. It is ok to ask questions if action is taken but the only think I see is people using it as free consultancy at my expense. If you are taking action I encourage as much questions as possible.

The program consists of 3 stages each with 5 parts with a total of 15. Once all 15 are complete you will have cash in the bank and be able to rinse and repeat and scale your business (hire staff).

Stage 1

Stage one will serve as the foundation for your agency – Once complete your agency will be up and running, all steps are mandatory and you can’t move onto Stage 2 until stage 1 is complete.

Step 1

Pick a name and Niche for your recruitment business. I suggest either something related to your business or something brandable. For example if you decide to start a agency recruiting for lawyers you may call it “Lawyer Recruitment” or if its brandable you may choose a name like “LawRec”.

You may also have a Niche or sector you want to recruit in but I would choose something that you can see lasting over 5 years. Also bare in mind the current pandemic as recruiting for Airlines or Wedding staff would not be a good idea at this stage. Pick a sector which is not that badly effected such as IT, healthcare ect.

Step 2

Buy your domain name, once you have chosen your name you can buy a domain name for your agency. Chose either a .com or your local domain extension. For example I am in the UK so I would chose a .co.uk instead of a .com because it will rank better in Google for my local country…. but a .com is fine.

I recommend Godaddy or Namecheap but pretty much all companies are the same (Step 3 shows you how to get a domain for free).

Step 3

Website, in order to set up your website you need hosting which you rent the server from a company to power your website. Once this is done I will show you how to link the two together and set up a theme on WordPress with no extra cost. They also give a FREE domain name with every purchase. No need to purchase any of the extra add ons – You will not need them at this stage.

I recommend Bluehost as the cost is around £60 for 1 year, they also offer free support so if you need help setting up or have any issues they help you with it at no extra cost. CLICK HERE TO BUY

Step 4

Linkedin – You will need a Linkedin profile. This can be different to any other profile you have, complete the profile but of course don’t make it up. I will be happy to give you some input but you just need to begin posting on it. At Stage 2 I will show you how to grow your connections full of candidates ready to go to interviews and begin working. It also serves your brand by having more online presence as well as authenticity.

Step 5

Business email – You will need a business email, This needs to be set up and you can pay monthly for it. I recommend only Google Workspace  (Gmail) You only need to buy the starter plan but feel free to buy any one you want. The cost will be around $6 (£4.50) per month.
