5 Things I Hate About Being A Recruiter

I am known for my recruitment business, my years in the industry and my reach across the industry. We all know working any professional will have its up and downs and recruitment is no exception. I love recruitment with all my heart, it has provided me with financial freedom many times over but there are some things I wish I could change about recruitment. Here are 5 things I hate about being a recruiter.

Long payment terms

Typically we are paid 30 days (or more as there is late paying clients) from when the candidate starts their current role. Also if the candidate leaves we have refund a large chunk so in total we have maybe 4-6 months before we are all clear.

Fee’s

The fee’s are falling fast I have seen a 60% less fee in some industries since I started recruitment.

Recruiters have a bad name

Lets be real, what do you think of when you think of a recruiter? Yeah… enough said.

What a typical recruiter looks like

Bad clients

Candidates can be bad for many reasons. The number one reason is very poor communication with recruitment agencies. Trust me, if you as a client have bad communication you won’t get much love from recruiters.

Bad candidates

The rate of which candidates don’t show up for interview or accept counter offers is at an all time high. It can leave a bad taste in the client and recruiters mouth. Often candidates will go for a higher paying salary and then use that to get a pay rise in their current role.
