If you are in sales or offering a particularly service chances are you have or will be using Linkedin to get more sales and promote your brand. Without actually reaching out to people and having them engage with you, you are unlikely to go through hyper growth.
So what do you actually send?
Well most recruiters message something like this…
Hi (Name), I am currently recruiting for a (Job vacancy). Having looked at your profile I believe you are a great match, are you free for a chat?
Terrible… it says nothing about the candidate it basically translates to… “I need to make commission ASAP”
So what should you send?
The first message you should needs to spark curiosity
Hi (name), could I ask you a quick question?
Or
(name), I have a quick question if I may?
This works because it sparks curiosity, however if you are a sales person or a recruiter, chances are most people will realise why you are messaging and expecting a sales message. However they can’t be sure.
Second message
I am talking to industry leaders/professionals and wondered how you usually choose your (sales/job search/product)
From there you can take the conversation on, using this method with voice notes works even better.
